Playgroup NT supporting the Community

Playgroup NT is a not-for-profit organisation that provides support for volunteer led playgroups where children under 5 years old and their parents or carers meet on a regular basis. Our community playgroups operate throughout Darwin, Palmerston, Rural and Remote areas.Playgroup NT also offers several supported playgroup programs which are facilitated by our staff members. These playgroups are for those families that are culturally and linguistically diverse, suffer from Post Natal Depression or Anxiety,have a child/ren with autism spectrum disorder characteristics and Defence families.
Playgroups strengthen the family unit by offering a safe, supportive approach to encourage parents, caregivers and grandparents of children under five to come together to learn through play. As well as being great for children, adult friendships and support networks fostered through playgroups have many benefits to parents, both reducing social isolation and increasing people’s connection with their local community.
